In the Studio

Tanysha Yellowhorse

We created this short film to provide a behind-the-scenes look at portrait sessions for our Native Light Photo Collaboration project. In this short film you will meet Tanysha Yellowhorse and her mother Stephanie Medina. Tanisha is Diné and Keres. The process of creating an authentic photograph is a collaborative one. Participants come to be photographed with a variety of objects, clothing, and regalia—each item bearing with it a history and deep personal significance. We are honored by Tanysha and her mother’s friendship, for their support of our project and for being a part of this filmed portrait session.

While watching this beautifully made short film by Ian Baker, please note the lovely music by Native Flutist and Champion Hoop Dancer Tony Duncan.
